JOIN US for the Asia Pacific Environmental Summit. Top on the agenda for the Asian Leaders is tackling plastic pollution. Topics to be discussed include increasing coordination with Governments, Non-Governmental Organizations, and volunteers using existing technology to locate litter/trash, motivate volunteers to cleanup, and report the results globally. Key will be to use common technologies with our partners for consistency and reporting.

General Sessions

Keynote: Rosa Vivien Ratnawati, Ministry of the Environment and Forestry - Indonesia

Rosa Vivien Ratnawati, was born in Jakarta on 1 May 1970.  She graduated from the Law Faculty at University of Indonesia in 1994 and pursued her Master’s on Sustainable Development at The University of Sydney in Australia where she graduated in 2000.  She began her career at the Ministry of Environment in 1996 where she finally appointed as acting Assistant Deputy for Civil Law Enforcement and Non-Court Dispute Settlement in 2006. In 2011, she was assigned as the Head of Center for Bali and Nusa Tenggara Ecoregion Management and continued to serve as Head of Legal Bureau and Public Relation in 2013.

When the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Forestry were merged as Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2015, the Minister appointed her as the Director of Tenurial Conflict Settlement and Customary Forests. In 2016 she was assigned as Director of Complaint Monitoring and Administrative Sanction. Since November 2017 she has been serving as the Director General for Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, and Hazardous Substances Management.

During her career, she is also experienced as instructor for various technical trainings and education such as: training for environmental law enforcement, environmental dispute settlement, as well as certification for  environmental judge. She has also been involved in many formulations and development processes of legislations on environmental affairs.

Since 2018, she has actively participated in all the meetings and negotiations at BRS (Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm) Conventions and Minamata Convention on Mercury. In November 2019, she was appointed as the President of the COP4 Minamata Convention on Mercury.

Keynote: Tzi-chin Chang, Minister of Environmental Protection Administration - Republic of China

Tzi-chin Chang currently serves as the Minister of the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan.

Chang served as an associate technical specialist of the Department of Environmental Protection of Taipei City Government in 1982–1987. In 1987–1996, he became the Section Chief of the Environmental Protection Administration. He served as the section chief of the Environmental Protection Department of Taiwan Provincial Government in 1996–1997, as the director of the Northern Region Environmental Protection Center in 1997-1999 and as the executive officer of the Secretariat in 1999–2000. In 2000–2005, he became the director-general of the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Taipei County Government and in 2005-2006 as Deputy Commissioner.

Chang earned his bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from National Cheng Kung University in 1980 and his master's degree in the same field from National Chiao Tung University in 1995.

Keynote: Dr. Hungdah Su - Profesor, Political Science and Dean of Social Sciences at National Taiwan University

Dr. Hungdah Su is Jean Monnet Chair Professor of Political Science and Dean of Social Sciences at National Taiwan University, and Director General of the EU Centre in Taiwan. He also served as the President of the European Community Study Association (ECSA) Taiwan during 2015-2023, the President of the Republic of China Association of International Relations during 2019-2021, and the President of European Union Study Association (EUSA) Asia-Pacific during 2017-2018. He is member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2015. He is a leading scholar of the EU Study, EU-Asian relationship, and Asian integration study. In January 2021, the EU Delegate even held a grand book launch for his 440-page book entitled European Dream and Reluctant Integration in the 21st Century: Lessons for Ongoing Asian Regionalism.

Conference fee is sponsored by our partners and government.
You will be responsible for your own travel ticket, accommodation fee and other incident expenses. 

Subsidy

For each country, we would provide free accommodation for one delegate; 

If any government official is attending, we would provide free plane tickets and accommodation for the guest and the LDI delegate.

      • We’re glad to welcome leaders from the Ministry of Environment from different countries and European Union climate pact ambassadors to join the conference! We would arrange our international partners to visit our government and could have more interactions and ideas exchange on sustainability policies and youth community engagement.
